Celebrating 5 Years Of Blogging

It’s hard to imagine that just five years ago I found an envelope under the tree with my name on it that would change everything. When I opened it up, I found a piece of paper also with my name on it. This time it was different though. This time there was a .ca at the end of it. It was a gift from my brother who was then but a budding web design student. Now he is the Matt Morrison, CEO of ChurchOS. That year I got socks that wore out and shirts that are no longer in style…but a website- that’s still going strong with over 15 regular viewers worldwide.
Little did I know that my life would never be the same from that Christmas onwards.*
Nor would the Internet for that matter.
You have to remember that five years ago there were very few of us blogging. I think it was like Al Gore, a guy in Nebraska, the people at Yahoo and me. Back then it was seen pretentious to have your own name on a web domain. Today, it still is but just a lot more people have it.
Well that was five years ago and I am excited to roll out over the next week the top five blogs that we here at JonMorrison.ca would like to share with you, the faithful.
*Being less dramatic for a moment, I see that it really was the same in almost all ways. Now I had my own blog, it only publicized my tendency towards narcissistic reflection.
