A Theological Manifesto
Presenting the JonMorrison.ca theological manifesto. This I got from the Piper’s blog, Desiring God. We can call it Reformed, Calvinist, systematic, old school- whatever title we need to give it. I like,
“Biblical”
I think it sums up beautifully what the Bible says goes on concerning the work of Jesus how Jesus saves sinners, particularly my experience of salvation.
This is...
More Than Just A Fig Leaf
Genesis 3:7 is just a small verse at the Bible beginning but it has enormous implications all throughout history. In a garden paradise called Eden, Adam and his naked wife, Eve sinned by rebelling against his authority over them. They sinned. As a result sin cut us off from the union with God that we were made to live in.
Because we are not right with God, so also we are not right with each...

In case you do not...

Being the son of a realtor, I have heard that there are three major factors to consider...
A Day At Re:Train
Taking courses at Re:Train in Seattle has been a great gift of God’s grace to me. Classes have been rich in theology and always make sure to incorporate its application as we lead on mission in local churches. The focus on equipping ministry leaders has been great for helping me grow as a pastor today.
I love the theology we study and wrestle with as taught by PhD’s from seminaries...
He Still Does It.
Two men despaired as they walked along a road seven miles outside of Jerusalem. Luke’s gospel gives their discouraged line in 24:19,
“We thought he was the one to redeem Israel.”
Jesus was crucified publicly and buried some days before. They heard of rumours that Jesus was alive again but never saw him. So they went home, sad that the man they had hoped to be Messiah, the right-er of...
