  1. About

It is safe to assume that, having grown up up in Vancouver, British Columbia, I’m a proud Canadian and Vancouver Canucks fan. Despite the rain, Vancouver is the greatest city in the world to live in. I have always said that Vancouver is like the local church - when it is on it’s game, there is no where better in the world to be!

I believe the church is trusted with the message of Jesus and Jesus is the hope of the world. I will use every opportunity he can to share the good news of Jesus with whoever and however I can through whatever means possible. This blog helps for that.

My love for the church grew when, for almost five years I served as a youth and young adults pastor at Coquitlam Alliance Church. Those were five great years serving with people who would be life-long gospel partners.

    Education

I want to learn everything and will go anywhere to learn it.

Even though Vancouver is where my heart is, England is where my studies are. I’m currently studying apologetics at Wycliffe Hall at the University of Oxford.

In June 2011 I completed Re:Train, a missional leadership program hosted by Mars Hill Church and Acts 29 in Seattle, Washington. Prior to that I received a Bachelor Of Theology degree from Ambrose University College in Calgary, AB.

    Communication

I believe writing is still an effective way to communicate in this age. In 2009 I wrote a book called, There’s Something I Think You Should Know as a gift to graduating high school students for no other reason than I thought all the other books for grads were simply terrible.

Recent reports suggest that it is not only a book for grads but is appreciated by readers of all age groups. Of course, you can do whatever you want with that little piece of information.

There’s Something I Think You Should Know is a helpful and fun gift for high school grads. It can be ordered on Amazon by following this link.

In 2011 I teamed up with a friend, Chris Price, and Campus Fire publishing and we wrote a book on apologetics for teenagers called, Questions. The book covers topics such as:

    • Why does God allow suffering?
    • How could a loving God send people to hell?”
    • What is the evidence for and significance of the resurrection of Jesus.
    • Where did the Bible come from?

    What Else

I enjoy playing hockey, watching hockey, drawing cartoons and on a great day can be found in an Oxford coffee shop with a John Piper book in hand.

Feel free to snoop around on this site as long as you want. It has 5 years of material on it. It’s not considered stalking. I wouldn’t have posted anything if that were the case.
